Due to our continued growth, we need you to join our team and help us deliver superb support. The role lends a more experienced and knowledgeable element to day-to-day support.
As a Senior IT Support Engineer, you will will have a proactive nature and fire prevention not firefighting mentality. As a business we are good at firefighting but where we need people to help management is to make sure we document process, focus more on procedure, and perform root cause analysis. An ideal candidate would enjoy working on plans to make sure that incidents do not repeat themselves.
Key Requirements
- Have proven 3-5 years good 2nd Line solid Support experience
- Have demonstrable technical knowledge and support capabilities across Windows 7 & 10 Desktop, MS Office suite and Active Directory support including at least 30% of the wider group technology base.
- Be capable of supporting at least basic Cisco network switching.
- Have enthusiasm for professionalism and technology.
- Present exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Have confidence and calmness while working in a pressured environment.
- Microsoft Windows Server 2012 / 2016 / 2019 (including Active Directory/DNS/Group Policy etc.)
- Microsoft Office 365 including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and Teams.
- Microsoft Azure Platform.
- Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 / 2016 / 2019
- Virtualisation technologies including VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V
- Shared storage platforms (SAN’s)
- Networking principals including VLAN’s and routing.
- Firewall solutions such as SonicWALL.
- Backup & disaster recovery solutions such as Veeam and Symantec etc.
- An MCTS/MCSE (Microsoft) qualification is desirable and additional training will be provided as required.
Highly desirable but NOT essential
- Have knowledge of ITIL, PRINCE 2 or Agile working methodologies.
- Knowledge of developing maintenance and actions scripts using PowerShell, VB Script etc.
- Able to support Cisco based networking and services such as ASA Firewalls, IOS-XE, Prime, CMX.
You will be required to work on customer sites, travel to customer meetings, training and supplier events.
